Why It Is Important to Be Motivated about Getting Healthier
Almost everyone I meet is working on getting healthier. It seems that city life has made all my friends fast-food lovers and just all-around couch potatoes. They are aware that they are living sedentary lives and always talk about wanting to be healthier. Some of them even go as far as joining a gym. But most if not all of them drop out of their membership in a month or two. Despite all their talk about getting healthier and such, they still lack the motivation or drive to actually work on loving their body.
My friends never have the correct motivation. Most of them admit to joining a gym simply because they thought it was trendy. They are aware that their lifestyle is far from healthy but they actually see nothing wrong with it. They might complain every now and then that they are getting fatter or weaker but at the back of their minds, they think that there is nothing wrong with them since they are still breathing. This is why I think it is absolutely important to make a person motivated to work on getting healthier. Be it losing weight or gaining muscles or simply feeling more energy, a person must be driven to work. After all, it is very hard to go to the gym or change one’s diet. One should be extremely motivated to accept the lifestyle change and make it work.
