Why Crash Dieting is not an Ideal Weight Loss Solution
Many people are not happy with their weight. Either they want to be lighter or they want to lose fat in some areas of their body. Banking on this discontent, there are many methods that claim to be the best and safest way to weight loss. If you do your research, you will be surprised to know that it seems there are many diet types out there as there are many starts in the sky. One of the methods that you will probably hear about often is doing a crash diet.
A crash diet is involves fasting for a period of time in hopes that the body will use up its stored fat. The period of fasting usually lasts 12 hours. The dieter will eat nothing during this period but he or she will be allowed to drink water. While the concept behind crash dieting may sound logical, the body does not really react the way you will expect it to. Instead of burning the fat, the body will burn lean muscle tissue. This means that you will not be losing the parts that you would love to lose. And because you will not be getting the carbohydrates that you need, you are just jeopardizing your health.
So before you even consider crash dieting, think of other ways to achieve weight loss. There are better and safer ways out there than crash dieting.
