Keeping Your Face Clean to Fight Acne

When I was a teenager, I had my share of acne and other skin blemishes. Being young, I ate anything I wanted. I also slept late and let even the simplest things cause problems. Relaxing and letting things go were not a part of my vocabulary. Of course, my pimples caused considerable problems on my confidence and school performance. Appearance is a big thing on a young person’s mind and I definitely did not like being exposed, what with my red pimples and all.

My mother tried to help me by buying me creams and ointments. None of them really worked. Then I heard a sensible idea from one of my classmates. She told me to keep my face clean. She said that pimples are trapped dirt in my pores and I have to keep my pores clean so that I will not get any acne. She said that she herself cleans her face at least 3 times a day. She does it even in school. I told her that it seems too much of a hassle to clean my face in the middle of a school day but she said that it is something worth doing.

I tried her idea one day and noticed right away that my skin was less oily when I kept it clean. Of course, I only used mild facial cleanser because my skin gets irritated right away. After a few weeks of keeping my face clean, I was happy to find out that my acne was starting to clear out. A new habit helped boost my confidence.
